Animatior vs animation - Alan Becker

An animator faces his own animation in deadly combat. The battlefield? The Flash interface itself.
A stick figure is created by an animator with the intent to torture. The stick figure drawn by the animator will be using everything he can find - the brush tool, the eraser tool - to get back at his tormentor. It's resourcefulness versus power. Who will win? You can find out yourself.

-- This took three long months.. i think it's worth it.

so starts the intro to this extraordinary piece of animation.  What is even more far out is that he did it on his own in three months in 2006.  I read that he graduated from High School in 2007 - so that would have made him 17! - (that's not confirmed - I tried to find an email for Alan Becker on line, to ask him a few questions, but I couldn't).
Below is a capture of the animation in video form, but as it is all coded in Flash, I urge to go to this link and see it in all it's unfuzzy glory

Then blow me if he didn't spend five months making a sequel - Animator vs animation II - again the video is below, but check out this link for the real deal

Apparently he lives in Ohio and after he made his first meister werk he went off on missionary work around the US with his church for a year.  Certainly an intriguing character, and sickeningly talented - I would love to see this idea of something on screen attacking its creator in broadcast graphics - it's the ultimate piece post-modern self-reference. Let me know if you have seen anything like this on TV already!
what's he doing now? here's a post of his on the Deviant Art website:I just recently did some art for an iPhone app called "License Plate Decoder". it's funny cuz i never do digital painting but that's what i did to make this. we really need people to try it out and give it good ratings.
